I've just joined. The instruments and effects and all are great — but, and it's a huge but, this Native Access software is terrible.
I installed it for the first time a few hours ago. The installation process makes it look like malware. Command line access demanded and lots of black windows opening in rapid succession, with no explanation of what it's up to. This isn't how normal software behaves.
A few hours later, and I've rebooted my machine, and now it won't work at all.
First, it complains that it can't sign me in. Your help article tells me I need to reinstall it. After a few hours of installing for the first time, I need to reinstall?!?
I do that. More problems and error messages, another long flood of command line interface windows, looking even more alarming than before.
It finally succeeds, but the troubleshooting has left another program needing a reboot. And, on rebooting, Native Access once again won't connect.
I reinstall again. Now it's loading, but it says my library is empty. I looked on the forums here and the only post I can see is about a bug that was apparently patched in June. That post said if I wait long enough, the library will refresh. I'm still waiting.
I'm at a loss what to do. Why is this software needing to be uninstalled and reinstalled with every machine reboot? I can see the NKTDaemon accessing the internet, but no sign of my library. The library windows says "Oops.. Looks like nothing comes up for "" "
This can't be how your software is meant to behave. Other platforms manage to validate a user without all this. What's the problem?
