Hi Traktor Team,
I would like to suggest several features that could make set preparation in Traktor Pro much faster and more musical, while keeping the actual DJ performance completely manual.
The idea is not to turn Traktor into an Automix application. I want Traktor to help with preparation and analysis, while the DJ remains responsible for track selection, timing and transitions.
1. Smart Beatgrid Correction
It would be extremely useful if Traktor could automatically detect when a beatgrid is slightly drifting or incorrectly aligned and suggest a correction.
Ideally, it could detect the real first downbeat, identify gradual beatgrid drift, suggest corrections for flexible grids, and let the user review the correction before applying it.
2. Phrase Detection
Please consider adding automatic detection of musical phrases such as 16-bar and 32-bar phrases, intro, breakdown, drop and outro.
This would be very useful for DJs who mix manually and want cleaner, more musical transitions.
3. Intelligent Playlist Ordering
I would love an optional playlist-analysis tool that can suggest a running order based on:
Energy + Harmonic Compatibility + BPM + Phrase Structure.
It should not automatically mix the tracks. It should simply suggest a possible running order that the DJ can modify manually.
4. Better Loudness Metering
A modern master meter with LUFS Integrated, LUFS Short-Term, True Peak and clipping warnings would also be very useful when recording DJ mixes.
Traktor already gives DJs excellent tools for performing. I would love to see it become equally powerful for preparing the musical structure of a set.
The software should help us analyze the music — not make the creative decisions for us.
