Any way of trialling Kontakt 8 to check compatibility?

Question

So I have Kontakt 6, Kontakt Player 7 and Kontakt Player 8. A free instrument I want to try out says it requires 'Kontakt Player 7' but after spending some time trying to get it to load, I suspect it actually requires Kontakt 7 (not just the free player).

All I want to do is try the instrument out. But:

a) I don't know for sure if the instrument requires Kontakt 7 or just player 7.

b) I don't know if the instrument will definitely be compatible with Kontakt 8.

c) I don't want to pay a load of money for a free instrument that I merely want to audition.

Is there a way of trialling Kontakt 8 (as an existing Kontakt 6 customer)? Can I get a refund if (a), (b) or (c) above become an issue?

Agreed.

However the OP will know right away - without cost - if his instrument (whatever it is) will work.

If it does not load in Player - he has his answer

Instruments only work with Kontakt Player if so licensed to do so via our partner program.

Many independent instruments require Kontakt Full in order to run.

Perhaps that is happening here. They may not be able to test the instrument if it requires Kontakt Full and they don't have Kontakt Full.

Whoever made and/or sells the instrument  should write on their site if it is compatible with Kontakt Player or if it requires Kontakt Full version , else contact them and ask them.

Whoever made and/or sells the instrument  should write on their site which version of Kontakt that the instrument requires  , else contact them and ask them.  As a general rule though then if it is compatible with Kontakt 6 and up then it should be compatible with Kontakt version 8 also.

NI does not give other trials of Kontakt other than Kontakt Player

where some features is only available as demo and others not available.

Since Kontakt Player is the trial then there is no refund on Kontakt , but there is support if the product does not work as it is supposed to do.
