Wrong bpm in traktor

Question

There is a track named when we come alive by armin van. Its official bpm is 138 and I have tested the same on djay pro and rekordbox. The bpm is 138. But traktor says 103.50. I think this is the first time I have observed traktor failed to detect the the correct bpm. Otherwise Traktor is always perfect even for complex bpms

Some Trance, Techno and especially Psy-Trance tracks can confuse automatic bpm detection. That's not random, in this case: 138 × 0.75 = 103.5

The software is likely locking onto a different rhythmic pulse and interpreting only 3/4 of the actual beat structure. This often happens with strong rolling or offbeat Psy-Trance basslines and other things, f.e. syncopated patterns, etc.. The bass transients can become dominant enough that the bpm algorithm follows the wrong periodic pattern instead of the actual quarter-note kick.

So if an obvious Tech/Trancetrack is detected around 100 - 108 BPM, it may simply be a 3:4 bpm detection error rather than an unusual track tempo.

You can see this although when you go through tracklist at Beatport.

MiK, Beatport, Traktor, RB, etc. have all other detection algorithms and sometimes they got the right bpm. 😊
