S2 MK2 - Red Blinking light

Hello,

I recently decided to pull out my S2 that I've never touched before and I got a red blinking light on the usb logo, dead centre of the controller. All usb-c ports are working on my computer. I have a nocturn 25 which requires the same setup. USB-B - USB-A - ADAPTER - USB-C - MAC. So I took that and plug it into the S2 and nothing. I've checked the midi on the computer. I was told that it might not be working because I don't have the software but I feel like the computer should still recognize that something is plugged into it. Other than that I feel like this thing is cooked.
