Since Maschine 3.6.0, I’ve been having problems with the Youlean Loudness Meter. I usually have this in the master channel.
Scenario 1: Loudness meter not yet loaded (e.g. in a new project).
When I try to load the plug-in, Maschine crashes at the exact moment I hit the "Load" button.
Scenario 2: The Loudness Meter is already in the master channel.
2.1: I don’t touch the plug-in. Everything works fine until I quit Maschine. Then there’s a very unpleasant loud noise that can sometimes only be stopped by restarting the computer.
2.2: I want to bring the plug-in to the foreground: Maschine freezes.
Workaround: rename the VST3 (e.g. “Youlean Loudness Meter 2.vst3.old”); Maschine won’t find it on start-up and the I can replace it with Izotope Insight or gFractor. Then at least I have a working loudness meter.
However, Youlean scales better and has a clipping indicator that I find more appealing.
What now?
