Hi,
I have a Nektar Impact LX49 MK3 and am trying to use NKS.
When I try to use for example Noir I note that the knobs are not mapped sequently from left to right, they are seemingly mapped out to the controls at random.
Is this normal ?
Interestingly ive had this issue on 2 keyboards now, a Novation FL Key 2 and this Nektar LX49 MK2 tho the former does not have a profile in Kompleate Kontrol for NKS
As I wrote in your other thread then the Novation Music page says then : "If this article hasn't helped you, please feel free to search again at the top of this page or, to contact support, please click here." (ask Novation Support)
Alternatively then of course then you can also try asking N.I. Support
the latter does but both showed the same issues in the same way in both Noir and Arturia Minifreak, with the later only mapping 6 parameters on 6 knobs(filter ADSR and Cutoff and Res with the first 2 knobs being left blank. Have also Tried U-He Diva and assignments there seem to be random to,
I am confused here , in your initial post you write that it is a MK3 and then later you write it as a MK2.
Anyway, my advice would have to be the same as for the other keyboard, if the given help does not help then contact Nektar support or try asking N.I. Support
.
Not normal which means the control IDs on your keyboard are not in the same expected order. Usually there is a MIDI template you need to use for a 3rd party keyboard or you need to remap the controls under the MIDI area of KK (there should be a MIDI button on the GUI). Open that and you should see a Knobs and Buttons section to map the controls from your keyboard via click/learn to set them correctly
Surely the idea of NKS is I should not have to map anything it should just work ? provided KK has the mapping for my particular controller of corse which it does.

Ok so i re-assigned knobs with midi map in kompleate kontrol to a sequential order but the mappings still seem off in the various NKS plugins I have access to.
I have also tried in Logic and Standalone with the same results
Well yes, but for 3rd party controllers that use MIDI and not actual "Host Automation" integration you need to make sure you followed the instructions and if required, load the correct MIDI template using your keyboards software or whatever the instructions actually say you need to do. I'm simply giving you some pointers to self-help so you can check if things are indeed setup correctly and how to change them if they are not. I don't own a Nektar so cannot say specifically what you need to do.
Well would need some kind of video or something to help further because basically, from plugin to plugin the order of the 8 encoders is always exactly the same so if things work correctly in one plugin they should technically work correctly for every loaded plugin so need an example with either video or images showing what the issue is that you have.
