Absynth not showing under MIDI instruments in DAW

Question

The rest of Komplete 9 is showing up in both as stand-alone and plug-in. Absynth is only working as stand-alone and does not show up under MIDI instruments inside a DAW (I tried 2 in 2 different DAW’s. Anyone have any ideas of what the issue is?

For this setup I’m using Magix Acid 9 and Win 10 and I have directed ACID to search all the plug-in folders.

I have no idea if Absynth is compatible with Acid 9 , for what it is worth then it works on Acid 10 on my PC.

I even directed it to the folder where the Absynth folder is under Program Files/Native Instruments/Absynth. No plug-in to be found there, but I was hoping maybe the DAW would see something that I wasn’t.

"Program Files/Native Instruments/Absynth 5" is the location of Absynth 5 standalone app version and you will find no plugin there.   But as VocalPoint suggests then you could have pointed the VST2 location to some custom location so as VocalPoint suggests then use Windows File Explorer app to seek for Absynth5.dll on drive C:

Else try uninstalling the Absynth 5 completely (or move Absynth5.dll  out of DAW scan range) and then plugin scan using DAWs while not installed and then reboot and then reinstall Absynth 5  , and then use Windows File Eplorer again to make sure that the Absynth5.dll is installed and that DAWs are pointed to Absynth5.dll location and then scan with DAW again…

Your plugins will be installed based on your settings in Preferences.

However if this is Absynth 5 - that is an old school VST2 plugin. You will need to locate a file called Absynth5.dll on your system drive.

Wherever that file is found - that’s what you need Acid 9 to scan.

I don’t believe it’s the DAW because I also have Reaper installed and it showed the same results….all instruments but Absynth are available. I definitely miss my MAC at the moment but it is what it is.
