Hello everyone, & @Jeremy_NI ,
I’m starting this thread because I’m running into some issues with Kontakt 8 on macOS Sequoia and the latest version of Logic Pro.
I’ve already contacted support and am currently waiting for a reply. In the meantime, I thought I’d post here in case anyone in the community has encountered these issues or knows of a workaround.
Here are the details:
Issue with the Preview Engine: Kontakt 8’s preview engine cuts out every time I create a new track in Logic Pro. The only way to restore audio previewing is to restart Logic Pro or manually reset the Core Audio engine. My multithreading settings are already correctly set to "Playback & Live Tracks." Reinstalling "Preview" via Native Access didn't solve the problem.

You installed your content on an external hard drive? What is the format? On Mac it should be APFS: https://support.native-instruments.com/support/solutions/articles/69000879327-notes-on-hard-drive-formats-on-mac-computers

You mentioned Alicia Keys previews, older products previews are stored in the previews library.

Full Disk Access: Yes, both Logic Pro and Kontakt 8 (as well as Native Access) have Full Disk Access enabled in my macOS Sequoia settings.
External Drive Format: My sound libraries and previews are installed on an external SSD properly formatted in APFS.

What's strange is that everything works flawlessly in Komplete Kontrol, even when adding a second track/instance. The preview engine only cuts out when I add a second track with a new instance of Kontakt 8 directly in Logic Pro.

Strange one! I'm out of ideas! Make sure to include all info to support maybe with a little video, just to speed things up!

Thanks for following up! Here are the exact details:

On the first track in Logic Pro, the preview function works perfectly for all libraries.
However, when I create a second track (with a second instance of Kontakt), the preview function only works for about half of my sound libraries on that second track.

For the other half, the preview audio just cuts out/doesn't play at all on that second instance.

Are the sound libraries it doesn't work for consistent? Please list those that don't work so we can compare

I tried this on my system (also Sequoia) but couldn't replicate but it may be I didn't have the same libraries as you

Ok tried this with Kinetic metal on first track and Alicia's keys on second but both libraries still play previews

Native Instruments support (AI) is asking me to try this. Do it like this on macOS:

Close Logic and Kontakt
Open Finder > Go
Hold Option and then click Library
Go to Application Support > Native Instruments > Kontakt 8
Find komplete.db3
Delete this file
Launch Kontakt in standalone mode
Wait a while while the database is rebuilt
Then, test again in Logic
