Our community is only as strong as the trust we all place in it — so we wanted to share a few tips to help you stay one step ahead of the fake accounts, phishing attempts, and impersonation scams that occasionally pop up here (as they do on most online platforms).
How to tell who's actually staff
Official team members are marked with a verified ADMIN badge on their profile:
Never rely on a username or profile picture alone to judge who's legit. Usernames can be copied or tweaked slightly to look official, but the badge can't be faked.
Red flags to watch for
- An unsolicited DM, especially one that feels urgent ("your account will be suspended," "verify now," "claim your prize")
- Requests to click a link, download a file, or move the conversation to email or another app
- Any request for your password, verification codes, or payment details and any kind of personal data, like your email address
- Usernames that look like staff but are slightly off (extra numbers, underscores, or a different spelling)
What we will never do
We will never DM you asking for your password, 2FA code, payment information, email address or any kind of private information. We will never ask you to "verify your account" via an external link. If you get a message like this claiming to be from us, it isn't.
If something looks off
Don't click, don't reply, don't share any information. Report the account or comment by using the little flag next to any comment. If you've already clicked a link or shared information, reach out to the admins directly: Jeremy_NI, Kaiwan_NI, or Matt_NI
Good habits
Use a unique password for your community account (not one you reuse elsewhere), and hover over links before clicking to check where they actually lead.
