Fixing pressure sensitivity on old Traktor S2 MK2 controller

I recently got a (very old) Traktor Kontrol S2 MK2 controller on a budget. Almost everything works fine; one of the small issues is each jog wheel has a small section that needs to be pushed down very hard to activate scratching (the rest of the wheels still do activate with a light touch). I tried holding down each load button for several seconds as instructed in Traktor's calibration dialog and that did not solve the problem. So I wonder whether there is a method to fix or adjust the sensitivity so that scratching can be comfortably performed.

The are three (or 4?) thin clamps around the rim of the plate that slide under protusions of the wheel when you turn the plate to affix it. The plate should slide managably easy when turning it the other way to unfix it. Not sure which direction (i don't have my S4MK2 anymore; it uses the same wheels).

You don't have to press it extremely hard, just as much as you normally press it for the touch function to work, maybe a milimeter, evenly (meaning the whole plate, not just the rim) and then use some force to turn it. Did you try turning it in the other direction?

Anyway, it's only thin metal, maybe twice as thick as the wall of a commercial drinking can, A friend of mine managed to bend up the rim (there is space between the clamps) and then used pliers to get a good grip and screw it off. He later bent the plate (somewhat) straight again. I wasn't there, i just saw the sorry end result. But it worked out. ^^

I spent multiple attempts in the past week pushing the top plate down as hard as possible and turning the rim (including getting assistance from another person), but it seems to be on really tight and just slipped around the palm of the hand. I guess there isn't a way to get more leverage on the plate?

Try holding down the platter and twisting it counter-clockwise to remove it,

and then clean out the sensor with a microfiber cloth
