Who would be interested in me turning this into a proper tool that runs on Windows and Mac and can provide display data to two LC6000s in 4-deck mode?
Depending on the amount of data, I get 2–4 FPS; pitch, sync, and lock all work and are updated in real time. Only BPM and key remain static, since these aren’t updated by the D2 web server based on pitch—instead, they display the information from the track data.
With this tool, you could control the LC6000’s display on a Mac, translate/replace MIDI messages (i.e., Elapsed and Remaining Time MIDI → Jog LED Ring SysEx for the LC6000), assign MIDI channels (since the LC6000 doesn’t have IDs and they’re all named the same in Traktor), and control the LC6000’s display.
I might even throw in my 2-deck MIDI mapping (per LC6000) on top of that.
Before I sit down for a weekend and program this out (and do it for Windows while I’m at it), I wanted to ask who actually uses the LC6000 with Traktor—or who might be interested in it.
I’m definitely keeping my fingers crossed that the InMusic NI merger will finally bring an SC7000M with native Traktor display support—it reminds me of the SC2900/SC3900 with the HC4500 display mod and native Traktor support, including hybrid timecode MIDI.
