How to deal with Komplete Kontrol S61 MK2 that won't power on

Question

Hi! Can you guys give me any recommendations about how to handle this scenario? I bought the komplete kontrol S61 mk2 keyboard from a private party locally where they showed that it powered on, but when I got home it would not power on. It wasn't transported roughly or anything like that. I'm using the 15 Volt adapter and I've tried just USB power and neither work. I tried several different outlets as well. I've tried plugging USB directly into the back of the computer of course. I tried pressing the power button in-out-in-out a bunch, tried press-holding it, … sadness : ( Likely the seller won't take it back. Worth trying to fix somehow? Or just a loss?

I remember someone writing something about using an external on/off because the power switch indeed can get worn if using all the time , but I can not remember if they did just do a short circuit.

Also as Sunborn refer to here then sometimes people have also experienced a ribbon cable falling off.

Personally I think that one should think carefully before starting to take things apart but for what it is worth then here is a link to a video showing disassembly at high speed.

Else then you can also contact NI Support and ask both for advice and for a repair quote , though from what I know then if your keyboard is outside of warranty then repairs are most often so expensive that you might as well buy (another) used keyboard.

Thanks! I tried two different computers; a modern windows laptop and desktop, and several different USB ports. I have already looked over the official help page. Wondering if others have had luck with diagnosing and repairing things like the power switch and boards and such at all.

Please try both another cable as well as also another computer.
