Difference in standard between AD and DA converters on Maschine Plus.

Question

I transferred digitally, nine sine waves from a computer to Maschine Plus: 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000, 10000, 15000, 20000 Hz.

I played these through the output and recorded them into Izotope RX 7 via an Antelope interface. The recorded sine waves were identical to the original sine waves.

However recording the same sine waves into Maschine Plus there was a 28.5dB attenuation and the sine waves were slightly rolled off.

I then recorded some metallic digital sounds into Maschine Plus and after doing this twice it acted almost as a smoothing effect - it rounded of the rough edges. This would be useful for the classical electronic music I produce.

Has anyone else noticed the huge difference between the DA and AD converters? I am quite prepared to accept I am missing something.

dont have any problems neither. my preamp is a schiit mani 2.

the m+ is just not as "loud" as my other samplers.

How are you sampling from vinyl? Using what?

Seems OK here:

A&H Xone:62 using the 'record out' RCAs into the Maschine line inputs. Fresh project, no tweaks.

from my experience, i always found maschine+ sound a little soft, but pleasant. i can imagine the tests you did are accurate.

also, if i sample from vinyl, i really have to turn up the preamp to get a decent level into m+, or use the "normalize" function in sample edit.

it's not a very hot sampler in terms of volume, but i do like the sound.
