Hi,
I am having an issue with updating the firmware 1.4.0 on my Kontrol S2 MK3, it is not being recognized in Windows Device Manager and appears as "Other Devices", see pic. Now, the controller does actually work fine inside Traktor 4 Pro but when I go to the Firmware Update app, it says that there's no controller connected and I'm pretty sure it's because of the missing driver in windows 11
I have installed the latest Controller Editor 2.8.2 which actually does not contain the Kontrol S2 MK3 driver but it installs the NI HardwareService without which Windows won't see the controller at all and I've double checked that the service is actually running
I got the Kontrol S2 MK3 ASIO 5.2.0 driver installed and it works in Traktor Pro 4 just fine
Just cannot see it inside the Firmware updater, I have tried disconnecting the USB cable, tried a different cable, (USB-C, USB-A) and then uninstall and reinstall everything and nothing has worked so far, I have just ran out of ideas on what can I try to get Windows to recognize inside Device Manager. Also I have the controller connected directly to the pc, no hub in the middle
I've also tried on a different laptop and it shows up same as "Other Devices" inside Device Manager
Native Access doesn't seem to have anything of use besides being able to install Controller Editor but I already have that installed.
I've also looked all over Native Instruments site for any possible drivers but so far no luck so I'm now trying to reach out.
I got the latest Traktor 4 Pro 4.5 installed as well
SMALL UPDATE: I've found that there is actually a NI USB devices category inside Device Manager in Windows, which does show Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3 but when running the firmware updater it still says that there is nothing connected. I've tried uninstalling the missing device and just have the one that's already there by itself but still says that there nothing connected. See Pic 3 on the bottom
I thought perhaps it's a double driver but when uninstalling the missing driver and running "Scan for hardware changes" it shows up again, so there is definitely something that is not being recognized I can't figure out what it is
SMALL UPDATE 2: I found the ASIO controller app, which does say Interface connected but the Firmware Updater is still dead. See Pic 4 below
SMALL UPDATE 3: Inside the ASIO controller app, in the diagnostics tab it shows the Firmware of the controller, which shows as 0.3.7 and it's the same version as the actual firmware app. See pic below
Also Traktor says that there is something missing as well….. what is it!?
