NI's present 2026 'The Big Partner Sale' says :

Up to 93% off hundreds of NKS instruments, samples, and bundles, made for your hardware by top developers. Ends June 30. "

I was wondering a lot what is was that was supposed to be discounted with around %93 , so I decided to try and find out.

I found two candidates but none of those qualifies as %93 off :

8DIO : Modern Scoring Bundle. It's sold for Bundle Price : 279,30 € with a given 'before price' being 3270,00 € (says 'You save 2991,00 €') ~ 2991 / 3270 = %91.5 off (%92 off)

the other :

Image Sounds - Pro Instrument Leap Bundle. It's sold for Bundle Price : 99,00 € with a given 'before price' being 1190,00 € (says 'You save 1091,00 €') ~ 1091 / 1190 = %91.7 off (%92 off)

Did you spot anything that is closer to %93 off at NI's present 'The Big Partner Sale' ?

Well, I have been down the rabbit-hole and back a dozen times, just looking at the big partner sale. I wasn't busy hunting down any 93%-off bargains, and it turns out that I already have the Modern Scoring Bundle…or all of the titles within that.

I don't have the Leap bundle, but man oh man, the only real interest I'd have in more drums would be if they're unique, paired with an historically-related "other" instrument, or … well, if it was "Battery-Next".

I've also been comparing prices via Native's sale with the vendors' own sites. I actually see some possible opportunities that can be had by going to the vendor and buying a bundle that's not available in NI's sale.

A couple of them have bundles with prices that are comparable (slightly higher or slightly lower) than you'd get if you bought them separately in the NI sale.

There are a couple of things to bear in mind, with this sale (and comparing it to what's on the vendors' sites), though.

You need to read the EULA for the libraries you are considering. Just because you buy via the NI sale, that doesn't mean you'll be held to the NI EULA.
Even if something says "Ultimate Bundle" or "Everything Bundle" on a vendor's website, you should confirm if that's actually correct. "Ultimate" and "Everything" usually mean what was "everything" when the bundle was originally released, and might not include titles that came out since then.
If you buy a vendor's sounds or packs, you might or might not be able to install them with Native Access. Read, read, read.
Pro Tip! NI's sale pages have the audio samples to listen to. But some vendors also have "walkthrough" videos, so it may be helpful to find their videos on their site or on YouTube.

Oh, and…

5a. An awful lot of the vendor partner sale items are instruments or libraries that could be a few years old. There's nothing wrong with that. Just be aware of that and keep a level head on your shoulders if/when you decide to fork over your hard-earned cash.

5b. Some really old titles may just be samples that you will need to manually load into Kontakt Player. Newer titles may let you get to the music faster because they'll load as libraries into Kontakt.

5c. Not positive about this, but some very old titles might divert you to the vendor's own downloader product rather than Native Access. This could be a convenience issue, especially when you need to do an update. This needs to be confirmed.

5d. Some titles have different versions available on either the NI site, the vendor's own site, or both. Soundiron, for example. There's a Soundiron 2 and a Soundiron 3 bundle, as well as a Voices 2 and Voices 3 bundle. It appears that both versions of each are available in the sale, with different prices for each. Always do your research and know what's in the version you're buying, as well as what it may or may not include.

So I'm actually still shopping. I'm excited about a whole bunch of things. But sheesh, my shopping cart(s) (at various places) probably total $1500 or more by now, yikes!

The good news is that most (or maybe all? I don't know for sure…) of the partner sale items won't expire until the end of June, so I should have plenty of time to think things over before I commit any money to them.

Check this for yourself before you take that 2-week vacation to hike the Appalachian Trail or to ride your motorcycle across Europe. I'd hate for you to miss out on a deal, only to come back and make a post, "BIF said….!"

As a Maschine+ user I'm quite disappointed that there isn't more content for standalone.

Maschine expansions seem to have dried up (I have all the existing ones). After a brief spurt of activity there have been no more Maschine+ versions of Play Series etc.

When the partnership with Akai was announced, I did expect some of their stuff to come this way, but it's not been a two way street.

Does the ownership by InMusic spell the end of new hardware coming from Native Instruments?

The last time "Simon" came down from his mountain to talk to us and show us his stone tablets, it was in November, a full 6 months ago. We've been patient, even with little to no followup or follow-through from NI.

"We need to talk" is a statement you never want to hear from your girlfriend. But I'm thinking it's probably time for that talk.

I was referring to the lack of content (software) for the Plus.

We know the MX4 is forthcoming, but I personally don't see the need for any new keyboards or another Maschine, another audio interface etc.

Akai just announced another MPC, but it's just a Live III in a different coat.

BTW news from Ableton:

Added support for direct track selection to the Komplete Kontrol S Mk3 Control Surface.

Added Control Surface support for the NKS Connect.

Yes, I did notice all the artist tool companies having major sales. Scooping up what's left of the market cause the AI demon is trampling everything on the Earth. The companies' liquidating what they can cause every white collar business is terminally ill now.

I wonder what it will take for all the tech bros to come to their senses. They might not stand up and actually name the enemy until they are homeless begging for food.

Why even bother selling it at that point. Just use as a promotional tool and give it away to users for free.
