Hi. I'm Alex.I live and work in the Netherlands.
As a hobby I use Cubase 15 Pro to tinker with sounds, chords progressions, arpeggio's and tunes etc..
Yesterday I bought myself a brand new NI Kontrol S61 Mk3.
I Thought it would bring joy, but boy was I wrong.. So far nothing but frustration and I hope that you can help me.
Yesterday I connected the provided USB-C to USB-C cable between the Kontrol keyboard and the DAW computer. I managed to download and install Native Access, install the Hardware Connection Service (HCS) and Komplete Kontrol from within Native Access and I updated the Kontrol S61 Mk3 to firmware 2.1.2.
I want the much advertised "deep integration" with Cubase and the keyboard. That's one of the main reasons I bought this unit (along with poly AT)
FYI: At this point in time I'm not very much interested in the rest of the NI ecosystem. I have no NI hard- and software except for what camer with the Kontrol S61 Mk3. I use third party VST's like Sylenth1, Serum, Phoscyon, some Arturia etc.
The problem is that as far as (I think) I have found out the Hardware Conncetion Service does not install the Cubase MIDI Remote script for the Kontrol S61 Mk3.
I Googled a bit and a solution that was mentioned was that I had to reinstall the HCS. In the mean time I tried that several times and also I tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything (Native Access and all) again with no result.
The whole thing is quite a puzzle to me with NI providing (in my opinion anyway) scattered bits of support information that I need to combine in an attempt to find a solution.
I'n not up to the task of fiddling with Windows settings, prompt and god knows what else digging in software is needed here.
At this point I "Windows" uninstalled everything that had Native Instruments in the name, deleted al the remnants in the various Windows folders with Native Instruments in the name. So I think it's all clean again for one last proper try.
Now I hope that in this last attempt I can get a decently working situation. I hope you can guide me and let me see the light…- :)
Warning: I'm not very handy with IT/Software puzzles, so detailed information please. Also in steps: Step 1, do this, step 2: do that, step 3, check this, etc.
And if this fail than I suspect that I will have to return this keyboard to the store and buy something from another brand.
Thanks in advance.
