Hi Since 3.5 I can't select categories in "Instruments" or "Effects" on Maschine Studio hardware: when I select a category (such as "Drums & Percussion" or "Sampled instruments") it automatically goes back to "All…". Did anybody see this anormal behaviour too? Thanks
With the video for you to see it in action:
Same issue here on Windows 11 with Maschine Studio. Vendors works but not categories.
I think this is because the browser is the same as the one in Komplete Kontrol v 3, which also doesn't have categories anymore (this is a KK 2 legacy feature). I guess the idea is to use type and character tags instead to filter sounds but I do miss categories too. The problem with using type and character tags is these are not used consistently enough by vendors.
They should have said something about this in the release notes but I can't see it?

OK so it's not an isolated bug on my side, thanks for your answers. Categories are VERY useful to narrow down the search, especially when having lots of instruments/fx.
Somebody at NI can comment on it?
I agree - type tags could be used for this but a) they are too cluttered up by third party vendors who add their own tags making it a mess and b) they are not used consistently, even by NI, so you can't find everything that's a reverb for example this way. I would like them to bring back categories in both browsers, KK3 too.
Personally I would much rather have category based sorting than vendor based anyway, generally I can't remember half the vendor names for plugins (I have so many) and tbh I really don't care about 'branding' anyway. Categories are much more useful and relevant musically.
Damn! Just booted up my Maschine+ (running 2.1.0) and was going to post that it still works - but then I updated to 2.2.0 and have the same issue. 😥
