Like many of us, I imagine, yesterday I turned on the Maschine+ and found the firmware and Kontakt to update. I started with Kontact and then the firmware: everything seems to be working fine.
The Maschine automatically reboots, and after about two of them, the fatal message that the SD card wasn't recognized, asking me if I should format it, and I panicked. I rebooted the machine and this time it started normally, except for the message that the instrument, effects, and other archives were missing.
I looked for the nearest window, but I remembered that I only live on one floor and there's a soft lawn downstairs.
Luckily, I noticed that in the browser search there was a spinning wheel, and it slowly rebuilt the entire archive, even the projects archive is intact.
Now, jokes aside, I didn't think I was suffering from "Maschine+ SD card anxiety." I'm even afraid to add my own sounds and loops to the library. I love this machine, but by reading forums, YouTube videos, and so on, I realized that the SD card causes nightmares.
It took me almost two days to install the entire Native library. I haven't figured out if I can back it up, for example, by removing the card with the machine turned off and connecting it to the PC.
I had Maschine format the SD card directly, and when I tried to insert my own sample library, I immediately noticed that in my case the manual didn't match the contents of the SD card: "Add samples to the following directory on the SD card: Native Instruments\Maschine 2\Samples." There's no Maschine 2 folder in the NI folder; I only have a "User" folder, and that's where I copied the samples.
This is the card;
Maschine+ runs fast and never crashes, but I'm still scared.
Do you have any advice for occasionally backing up the archive of the SD card, because just the thought of losing projects or having to reinstall the entire library scares me.
Otherwise, I'll switch to MPC 🤣🤣
(never!)
