Use audio inputs when Maschine is a plug-in

With the Maschine V3 software, I can route audio from my interface into Maschine, and process with effects etc.

When I load Maschine as a plug-in within Logic, this doesn't seem to work. Same audio settings, and I can see it's using my RME interface because it shows 16 inputs (not the 4 on the Maschine Hardware). But no audio enters Maschine.

Not sure if this is possible. But it should be no?

I thought I had figured it out. A few sources say to route the Logic audio track into Maschine and select it in the plug-in, but of course none of these show in the Maschine plug-in.

Other sources indicated you need to set up an aggregate device, and I used to be able to do that easily in older Mac OS's, but not this new one.

Has anyone routed Logic audio tracks into the Maschine plug-in, as you would on the hardware?
