While many people were expecting the release of an X1 with a jog wheel and a Z4 (4-channel controller), instead, they're releasing yet another version of the X1, a Z1, and a new 2-channel controller. It's very disappointing. Why this stupid choice?
Nowadays, it's all about what most people would buy in as large a quantity as possible (according to marketing experts). Although there where loud voices for a single deck jogwheel controller, a D2 successor and a Z4 (and Z2 successor), 'loud voices' does not mean 'large numbers'. X1 and Z1 where incredibily successful, as where the S2 and S4.
The only question now is: "Why do you think this is stupid?". Not from your perspective (you are dissapointed customer, yet don't represent all customers), but from the company's, both short-term and long-term.

No doubt some people want this, but where there really many that expected NI to do this?
Why this stupid choice?
Because it's what people buy :)
