Kontakt 8 crashes if a particular library is loaded AND my S61 Mk3 keyboard is on

Question

I hope somebody can give me some guidance on the following problem:

I have Kontakt 8, a S61 Mk3 keyboard, a Windows 11 PC and a number of Kontakt Player and Full Kontakt only libraries. Everything works fine except for one particular full-Kontakt-only library (Impact Soundworks Django Guitar) which causes Kontakt to crash when I load it into Kontakt. However, it only crashes if my keyboard is connected and is switched on. Without the keyboard the library loads OK and I can play it using the onscreen keyboard.

The problem was almost certainly caused by me because I tried to add an image to this library which started the crashes. The problem isn't in the image directory (C:\Users\Public\Documents\NI Resources\image) because I have tried blanking that directory and the crash still happens. So it seems I must have corrupted something else in a database or other file that is being loaded into the keyboard when I load the library?

I have uninstalled/reinstalled the library to no effect, rescanned etc. So my next step would be to uninstall Kontakt and do a fresh install but perhaps somebody has another suggestion?

Thanks for the comments which are much appreciated. I used the Kontakt Crashes Support page and also the uninstall advice page (I've uninstalled and re-installed Kontakt). All good avice but in this case it didn't solve the problem yet. I am fairly sure it wasn't crashing before I tried to change the image file but must admit that it difficult to be entirely sure because between the last time I used the plugin and when i tried to change the image Windows, Kontakt and the keyboard's firmware may all have had updates too.

I've contacted Support and they are vey helpful and quick in their replies. We haven't located the problem yet but I've just sent the Support File (which is a superb feature in Native Access) and hope we can get to the bottom of it. I'll share the final outcome.

Do you know for certain that the library wasn't crashing prior to your custom image?

I have a few Impact Soundworks libraries, all of which work fine for me.  But I do know it can be a serious problem sometimes if you have an old version of Pulse installed as that can get in the way of having a clean launch of their products in your DAW.  Maybe the best bet is to check your version level on Pulse and compare it with what they recommend for that library.  I always keep on the latest version so that may be why I don't encounter any issues on mine.
