Experiences with MX2 controller

I’ve got an MX2 controller to try out and would love to learn from your experiences.

It’s bothering me that whenever I press the buttons – for example, the play button or the dial to load a track onto the deck – there’s always a loud click. To my ears, it’s loud and distracting. Is this normal for the MX2, or is it faulty? On the S3, this clicking is quieter. I’d like to buy a new controller and have been using the Z1 up until now. Do you have any recommendations for me? Thanks for your reply. I bought my Z1 about four years ago and haven’t used it with the X1. It’s great to get this tip from you.

Do you think it’s worth giving this a go? Would you recommend the latest version or the one before that? I’d like to reduce the amount of work I do with my mouse and also control Stem files from the controller. Is it easy to combine the Z1 (from around 2022) with the X1? I also have a small Soundcraft mixing desk. It would be great if you could reply. Also regarding your opinion on whether to go for the MX2 or the X1.

Louder click usually means it is a better component and will you last longer while. You don't want soft encoders (K2/K3 like) either.

What are you missing on your Z1? And is it just the Z1 or are you combining it with an x1?
