Connecting Midi keyboard

Hi all,

I've switched to a new computer, and have managed (with your help) to access the libraries on my external drive.

The question now is, how do I get Kontakt to hear my MIDI controller? I'm on an Arturia KeyLab 88.

In KL I've selected DAW, rather than Arturia, but I don't see where or how to get K to connect to it. K works fine in stand-alone mode, but doesn't recognize the MIDI controller.

Sorry, it's been a long time, and I just don't remember.

Any thoughts?

You have to use latest version of Komplete Kontrol software/plugin (downloaded and installed using latest version of the Native Access for your OS ) then setup Komplete Kontrol standalone program setting Midi to use your Arturia controller.

If you want to get your keyboard to communicate directly with Kontakt without using Komplete Kontrol software/plugin (other than pure Midi as written by ALDREAD below) then you need to use a N.I. Komplete Kontrol S-Series MK3 keyboard.

What ALDREAD writes in the above is correct, any Midi keyboard can communicate with Kontakt if you set Midi-in in Kontakt to the keyboard.

I think that the fact that Komplete Kontrol now has enhanced support for third-party controllers made me ignore the basic Midi support. Anyway then I am not even sure that your controller (Arturia KeyLab 88) enjoys the enhanced KK support unless that it is a KeyLab 88 MK3.

Thank you to both of you. I learn a lot from you all.

It worked. For those of you who are trying this, I set the KL 88 to Arturia, not DAWS, and it showed up immediately in Midi Settings. Now it works fine.
