Why am I not able to play any VST in Cubase from my Komplete Kontrol Keyboard?

When I play my Komplete Kontrol S61 MK2 keyboard in Cubase 15.0.20 when I have a VST track selected it does not trigger any notes of the VST. There is no visual key-down on the on-screen keyboard as when it triggers a note and you hear the VST. When I select a key of the on-screen keyboard of the VST with my mouse it sounds the note of the VST as expected. I have the Komplete Kontrol DAW - 1 selected in the MIDI ports of Cubase and have the Komplete Kontrol setup as a remote device and so all the transport controls work (Play, Stop and Record) as expected. Everything works great without issue in the stand-alone Komplete Kontrol application. I am able to play any VST from the keyboard of my Komplete Kontrol S61 MK2 from the stand-alone Komplete Kontrol application as well as Kontakt as expected. All the devices check out in Device Manager, as well as the registry and the required services running and all the Cubase settings as you can see in the attached screenshots. This behavior seemed to start around the time the new Windows 11 MIDI 2.0 stack update rolled out. I had Korg drivers installed that cause a problem with the new Windows 11 MIDI 2.0 stack so I have uninstalled all of the Korg drivers as advised.

I'm rattling my brain to figure out why I cannot trigger any VST in Cubase. There has got to be someone else in this world that is experiencing the very same behavior I am seeing. If anyone can offer any solutions, suggestions or workarounds that would be much appreciated.

Commend you for actually posting details of the setup, screenshots as that definitely saves people having to ask questions, just wish more people had that level of intelligence.

Been many years since I worked in Cubase so i'm probably not the one who can help but seems everything is fine. I know in DAWs such as Live the "DAW" port is not selected as a MIDI input or for track routing as it is a control port that just communicates with the DAW script so just check the setup instructions for KK and Cubase to see if that is correct.

I mean from what I can see, you have the keyboard listed as an input in MIDI preferences, it is selected as an active input, it appears as an input device on a track so if you arm the track it should be working.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried a complete restart of your PC and then launched Cubase straight after restart? Would just confirm that another application doesn't have exclusive control of the MIDI (even Chrome can sometimes take control of MIDI) and of course don't have standalone KK running at the same time as Cubase.

Also, one last thing. I don't use KK V3 I still use KK V2 with my MK2 keyboard but in KK V3 in the MIDI preferences is there a checkbox to use MIDI 2.0? If so, make sure that is deselected.

Thank you for your reply. I have resolved this issue (PEBCAC problem…Problem Exists Between Computer and Customer). I had deactivated the preference to have the Monitor button to Auto-Monitor upon selection of the MIDI track. So, as you said, you select the Komplete Kontrol - 1 as the input and turn on the Monitor button for the track and all works as expected.
