Greetings,
I'm learning Studio Drummer and I have a thing that I don't understand and there is nothing about it in the docs. If I understand right, groove is not just a rhythm pattern but in addition to it a slight imperfection in time and velocity, that makes drums not robotic but alive/groovy. I understand that grooves library has that and if I drop a groove from library to drums track as a midi region I got that.
But what if I need exact drums notes? Say I'm producing "Still got the blues". I found score for drums. I entered notes in piano roll. I set Studio Drums as Instrument (to voice it). Can in this case I somehow use grooves of Studio Drums to humanize performance? Can I somehow apply groove from the library (in this particular case from Blues category) to my hand entered notes in piano roll?
I understand that I can apply Humanize in Logic Pro , but that will be random changes. And groove as I understand is musical imperfection, not random. In Ableton I saw a possibility to drug and drop a groove from grooves library to notes written in piano roll, so probably the same possible with Studio Drummer?
Thanks in advance
