Xone K3 MIDI IN/OUT same Device Name Problem

Hello Fam.

I have a Question about the Xone K3 Controller with Traktor.

I just got my second K3 to complete my Setup. After my Mapping was done i finally tried the whole Setup and found this Problem on Traktor.

When 2 K3´s are connected to my Macbook Pro with the USB-C Cables, Traktor recognizes them in the MIDI IN/OUT Section with the exact same name (XONE K3). This causes trouble every time i restart Traktor or reconnect the K3´s to the Mac. Traktor doesn´t remember which K3 is which in this case. So i have to open the Traktor Settings, go to the Controller Section and reassign the MIDI IN/OUT for both Units over and over again and i always have to try both K3 IN/OUT Units because i never know which one is the first and which is the second one. They will light up when u have picked the right one, it’s like playing the Lottery every time. It is so annoying.

So the Question is, is there any way of renaming the Controllers for Traktor to recognize them as XONE K3 -1 and XONE K3 -2 ?

I know u can rename them in the Xone Controller Editor, but unfortunately the name you give them in the Editor is not used or recognized by Traktor. In Traktor they are simply called XONE K3. Doesn´t matter if you connect only one or both K3´s. Traktor always uses the same MIDI Name for both units.

Funny thing: My Xone K2 Controllers were always recognized by Traktor as K2 -1 and K2 -2. But K3 not. Why is this happening? So strange.

And the Traktor Controller Editor can only rename Native Instruments Controllers.

I really hope someone can help me out with this. It really sucks.

@mykejb You are right, you can change Names of some Devices, but unfortunately the K3 Controller doesnt show up in the Midi Settings :/ But was worth a try.

You can definitely edit the names by double clicking on the device in MIDI Studio. Not sure if that affects the device name seen by apps though as I'm not on my audio system at the minute.

@mykejb thx for the help. But yea, i tried this, and the Xone K3 Controllers not showing up in the Mac Midi Settings. Even if they would, as far as i know there is no Option to edit anything like Names ect. in the MIDI & Audio Settings.
