Purchasing Guitar Rig 4 in 2026?

Hi everybody!

Perhaps a bit of an unusual question, but is it possible in any way to purchase a version of Guitar Rig that still runs on Win XP or at least Win7? (To my knowledge this should be GR4)

I would pay money for that, just sayin'…

Background is: I utilise hardware where there are no drivers for more modern Windows- (or even Linux-) versions, like a Tascam US-1800 or a TC Powercore DSP board and I hate it to buy a whole new studio every ten years because I have to scrap hardware that is working perfectly fine.
The only thing my studio lacks is some guitar FX plugin.

Perhaps anyone can help me out, either NI if they can deliver an old version of Guitar Rig, or maybe some user who still has the software and might sell ist?

You will have to buy a GR4 license secondhand (e.g. using the N.I. Forum Buy / Sell / Trade) .

Sometimes if people need an old version of something then it has happened that NI Support have let people have a complimentary version of the old software if people buys the new version (in this case Guitar Rig 7 Pro) , but you should not count on being able to do so and you would have to get this approved by N.I. Support (all) before you buy anything…

You can download GUITAR RIG 4 here but you can not activate without a license but it might run as a demo/player (?) . Anyway , one of the problems is that you can probably not activate GR4 using present N.A. why even activating it would require the help of NI Support.
