Midi Sync Maschine + and KK61 to LM Drums

Hello

My wife got me a Behringer LM Drum and i am trying to Sync them together by USB midi câble but i'm getting some issue that i couldn't résolve After few day of several hour trying ..…

So i'm asking for your help please 🙏🏼

I need the LM Drums to play my drums and the + to play anything else i need / They have to share the clock ( master clock LM Drums) to be in Sync

So :

• I plugged the two hardware using the USB câble
• Go to settings on my + , then midi , set midi Sync to receive clock , and i select LM Drums as Input Device

From here bpm and both hardware seems to be sync together so all good.

But now 1st thing i don't get is : what is the différence between MIDI Input Focus and None ?

Because if i am on focus and load a instrument it play by itself as if the LM drums pattern trigger my instrument note ( i don't want that ) , but when i switch to none it stop ..... so i leaved it to none for now the time to understand.

Here Come the probleme :

I have a komplete kontrol 61 keyboard that i plugged on the second USB at the back of the + that i used to play chord essentialy but now it doesn't work anymore so :

Usually i have 5 groups with one instrument loaded on the first pads of each group

On the 1st pad of groupe A : i go to Channel midi / midi source : i select my KK61 and then select channel 1 / Thru Off

Groupe B : same but channel 2

Groupe C : same but channel 3

Etc etc

But now only channel one is working for some reason so they all play the same note like if they where all plug in chain by a Thru midi câble 🤔

I don't know where is my mistake but this is above my skills to solve so if someone know a better , easier way to do it please let me know because i'm a noob in midi and i don't even understand where i'm failing at

what is the différence between MIDI Input Focus and None ?

Focus makes the pad receive external MIDI only when it's active/selected; none makes the Pad never receive external MIDI - This does not apply to dedicated controllers (Maschine, KKS & Jam), those always send MIDI to the Pad if it is in focus.

If you explicitly set a Pad Input to a MIDI port (any, dedicated or external) it will always receive that MIDI, even if the Pad is not selected/in focus.

What is your goal? Have the Maschine+ send MIDI from a Group in Pad Mode to the Behringer LM Drum? If so, what kind of MIDI does the Behringer LM Drum expect? Different notes on the same channel to trigger different drums or any note in different channels? You have to know this to configure Maschine to send the right MIDI.

Or do you want the M+ and LMD to be fully independent (each having their MIDI patterns triggering only itself)? If so, just set all Pads across all groups to Focus:None, no need to use MIDI channels or change anything else, i reckon this is the source of your issues.

If your goal is different, then explain please.

Undo all that, if I understood your requirements, you dont need any of that configuration. You only need that if you want fancy things like having keybed regions that always control different pads, to play two pads at the same time from your keyboard live or something.
