Standalone / Main only?

Title says it all honestly.

I love izotope products. I hate that they install 20 versions of each one.

Is there a way to only have the "main" plugin installed? I really don't want every individual module. I'll never use them outside of the main platform. This goes for Nectar, Neutron, and Ozone. I am just not into the little micro plugins and it clutters up my plugin list massively.

@iamthehuman You can delete all the plugins except the 'mothership' (iZOzone12AAXHook.aaxplugin) and it'll work perfectly. I tried it with Ozone 12 but pretty sure 11 used the same architecture. All the ozone .aaxplugin/.vst3/etc are just shells that load the actual plugin code so you can delete any you don't want to see and the mothership will still work as expected. I'm happy to load up OZ11 if you want me to double check it.

I thought the “main” plugin is just a mothership - an empty shell where you swap modules in or out?

If you just could install this single shell and nothing else - you would have nothing to add or remove.

And most modern DAWs should allow you to show/hide plugins that you do not want to see.

Pro tools doesn't allow that unfortunately. Unless I've missed something.

But yeah, I just want to see the mothership, not the individual pieces and if I want a module, I'll load it in that.

Having each izotope plugin have 12-20 versions of itself is just a little distracting.

Yeah - not sure you are getting this - here's the mothership (loaded by itself):

It loads - empty.

To be able to do anything meaningful with this thing - you need to click (2) and start adding modules INTO this thing. But to get the list under (2) to have modules in the first place - you have to install the modules.

This "all-in" install is by design. There is no concept of installing just this empty shell - as that has zero use and makes no sense.

If PT does not allow hiding plugins - that is unfortunate but not really iZotopes issue.

You will need to install the package as designed to use it.

Google suggests making a folder for Unused plugins out of Pro Tools plugin scan range and then move unwanted plugins to there and then maybe scan again ?
