Browser previews get cut off after less than half a sec

“Maschine 3.4.2 on Latest Sequoia—browser previews cut off after half-second on mouse/(typing) keyboard when scrolling through browser, but plays full with controller? (Prehear, normal behaviour)

Loop icon on bottom left makes the sound preview cut off after not even half a second.when off and preview on, plays normally as I’m used to.

Tried cache delete, coreaudiod reset, reinstall previews and Maschine, different soundcards and settings. Tried setting soundcard as system soundcard (standard) for all programs no difference—no fix. Anyone else?

• Tried: Full Disk Access for Native Access/NTKDaemon/NE Hardware Agents, buffer 128–512, cache wipe, reboot. Same issue.

• Now tested in Ableton Live and Reason: exact same behavior—preview chops to 0.5s with icon on, full if off. Not standalone-only; it’s the plugin too.

Have you checked that the Maschine software and your DAWs also have full disk access? yes (been at this for 3 days…)

Also “allowed in background” the ni hArdwareagent.app-and nihostintegrationagent.app

Yes, except for projects of course. Also with my user lib and file/folder

one thing to notice, I installed Maschine 2 today from legacy enabled, to see if the behaviour is the same and yes it is. (Upgraded from 2 to 3 on day of release)

One weird thing, normally in m3 side browser I saw kontakt 7, kontakt 8 player, when I opened them I saw all the libs just like in komplete kontrol. Now kontakt 7/8 isn’t visible in the browser anymore, but all the packs for it are visible now (which is faster and easier imo, just weird by installing m2 and letting it scan that that changed it in 3, kontakt 7 and 8 can still be chosen from the vst browser under sound (master-group-sound). Another mystery, or it hanged on an update and that’s the way it is now)

And last remark, but this is not only for Maschine but also massive reaktor kontakt komplete and others, after install via na2, and opening first the plugin in standalone, multiple times and giving for example massive the time to scan everything, ni access for these still stays on “open”

In short it’s a bit of a clusterfck, reinstalling is no possibility atm, update to Tahoe won’t solve it imo, reinstall and keep data and prog is…risky

@JayTee303 Ok so I think we found the culprit. It looks like towards the end, you click on the Auto load button, it's not a refreshing button.

If you activate the autoload it is loading the kit and not only playing the preview, as you can see by the way. Loading several kits in a row can result in these performance issues as many sounds get loaded in the memory at the same time.
