Driver installation failed

Hello, I recently purchased a Traktor Kontrol S4 MK2. I have a M1 MacBook Pro with Sequoia 15.7, and Traktor Pro 4 installed. When I plug in the console, the red USB LED flashes, and the Mac recognizes it as a USB device but not as a MIDI device. I tried downloading the latest drivers from the Native website, but when I try to install them, the installation freezes. How can I fix this? Thank you very much.

What drivers? Native Instruments doesn't offer any Mac drivers for Kontol S4 Mk2. S4 Mk2 is class compliant on macOS and runs with the standard drivers supplied by Apple with macOS. Does macOS recognize it as audio interface.

You have granted Traktor Pro access to microphones in macOS system settings?

@maniacintosh81 Traktor pro have the access to microphones, but i can't switch to midi mode because when i connect the s4 mk2 on my mac It is recognized as USB but not as MIDI

I have neither Mac , Maschine device nor Traktor device so I am really not sure about any of this (including the software compatibility) ,

but did you install the Controller Editor software ? , and did the Traktor device appear in the Controller Editor software ?

@PoorFellow i have installed control editor but the S4 does not appears in the software

@Carloperix If you go in your Audio & MIDI setup, found in Applications > Utilities, do you see any entry for the S4? When connected? When disconnected?

What driver specifically were you trying to install? This is class compliant and does not require a driver to be installed on Mac.

@Jeremy_NI when i connect the S4 and i go in utilities i see in the USB hardware but if i go in the AUDIO & MIDI setup the S4 not appear. I tried to install the 2.8 driver because I had doubts that my Mac did not have the drivers even though I had read that it was compatible. I tried a lot of solution but I can't solve it

But i have explained that when i try to install the driver the mac block this. The controller is working right with a windows 11 pc.

I don't understand what "driver" you and Native Support are talking about. There is no mac driver for the s4 mk2. There is a 2.8 driver for the S4 mk1, which you don't have..

It's odd that it is working on the other computer. Did you connect the power cable as well? Maybe it does not get enough juice on the mac USB.

@Carloperix the 2.8 driver is for the S4 (MK 1) and MacOS 10.9 - 10.11

The S4 MK2 is the one below that on the driver page, but does not require a driver for MacOS.

I follow the instruction that the support gave me. I always connect the power cable, the strange things is that as usb the macbook recognize the S4 but not like midi so when i start traktor the consolle not appears and just the usb led flashes on the consolle.

I know that the console not require driver but something don't work well
