Step 2 worked: Delete the Kontakt User Registry Folder.
Hope this helps someone else in the future.
Cannot get Kontakt 8 (stand alone) player to run after Windows 10 installation
Using exactly which update version of Windows 10 ?
Using what version of Native Access ? Installing which version of Kontakt player 8 ?
.
What is you antivirus ? And are you sure that the Kontakt player 8 installation finishes successfully ?
Be sure to be using latest version of Native Access for your OS
Check if you can download Kontakt 8 Player from Account downloads if you can then continue with the below :
Try uninstalling Kontakt 8 Player
Then reboot PC
Then download Kontakt 8 Player from Account downloads and install it manually and then check if that helps.
If you can not download from Account Downloads then alternatively you can download an old version from KONTAKT 8.1.0 and try installing that.
in case of download problems then try logging in into Google first, if that doesn't help then copy the download to own Google drive before the download.
The above ought to help you circumvent the download limit.
Precision matters. Thankx for asking the questions. Was installing all the latest from the NI website.
a) Running Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 19045.6446
b) Using Native Access 3.23.0 (9dcf11d / 1.29.0.0)
c) Installing Kontakt Player 8 Version 8.9.0 2026-2-25
d) Using ONLY windows Protection.
e) The NI access indicated it was successful. Is there a log file somewhere?
I will try what you suggested. Note my inital install was just trying to follow the instructions on the web site, nothing that should be out of the ordinary.
thankx
uninstall—> reboot—>download from "Accounts Download". —> Install —> install successful.
Run from start menu: I see Kontakt 8 player show up briefly under Task manager. Then disappears.
I'm not trying to do rocket science here. So far… disappointing.
