Loop sync not working properly

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing an annoying issue and it’s starting to get really frustrating. I’m using Beat Sync (tried also with Tempo Sync) with Quantize and Snap enabled. The problem happens on many tracks when I create a loop in an intro or in a section where there’s no kick. After a loop cycle, the loop starts drifting and goes out of phase.

I’ve read on a forum that dynamic BPM and grid analysis was introduced recently. Could this be related to that? Has anyone else experienced the same behavior or found a solution?

Not unless you yourself set multiple grid points. Else it's the same as the decade before.

How is your grid, is it set correctly on beat?

No, I haven’t manually set multiple grid points. I’m only using the automatic analysis. These are straight 4/4 tech house tracks purchased from Beatport.

On some tracks I’ve noticed the kick is slightly off in the drop, but even then I don’t get this issue there. The problem happens in the intro sections (especially when there’s no kick), but it doesn’t happen in the pre-drop or in the drop itself. That’s when the loop starts drifting out of sync.

Also, I’ve never had this problem with the same tracks in Rekordbox, which is why I’m trying to understand what’s causing it here.

I tried with your song and can't reproduce it.

Do you see the phase meter drifting out of sync? Or is it just the audio?

The SYNC button switches from solid blue to grey (while the “SYNC” text stays blue), and that’s when the audio starts drifting out of phase.

Mhh, that only should happend if you touch the jog wheel.

Even when you don't touch anything on your hardware, does the midi signal icon sometimes light up?

Sounds a bit like wonky hardware or mapping error. Or you touch the jogs.

What controller do you have?
