Maschine 3.4.2 Update: macOS 26 Support & Workflow Refinements

We are pleased to release Maschine 3.4.2, an update focused on platform compatibility, stability, and refining the modulation tools introduced in version 3.4.

This release delivers official support for macOS 26 (Tahoe), automatic plugin migration for Logic Pro users, and smoother drawing behaviors for the modulation editor.

What’s New in Maschine 3.4.2

macOS 26 (Tahoe) Compatibility Maschine is now officially supported on macOS 26.

Important Compatibility Notice: Please be aware that macOS 26 entirely removes support for FireWire devices. If you use a legacy FireWire audio interface, it will not be recognized on this operating system.

Refined Modulation Workflow We have optimized the new modulation editor to be faster and more fluid:

Linear by Default: The drawing tool now utilizes linear interpolation by default, allowing you to create smooth transitions instantly *applies only to quantization off.
Auto-Scroll: The editor now automatically scrolls when drawing modulation points near the edge of the window, making it easier to edit long patterns.
Smoother Editing: We resolved an issue where moving or repositioning existing modulation events would unexpectedly snap them to a "staircase" (stepped) shape, ensuring your curves remain smooth during edits.
Pattern Doubling: Fixed an issue where modulation curves would break or disconnect when using the 'Double' command on a Pattern.

Logic Pro Migration (V2 → V3) Upgrading to Maschine 3 is now seamless for Logic Pro users. If you open a project containing legacy "Maschine 2" Audio Unit instances but do not have V2 installed, Logic will now automatically migrate these instances to Maschine 3.

Performance & Stability

Kontrol MK3 Optimization: CPU load is now reduced when using Maschine with a connected Kontrol MK3 keyboard.
Stability: Resolved a crash that occurred on shutdown if a plugin window was left open.
Recording: Fixed an issue where recording audio loops into a Scene ignored the specific Scene Tempo.
Bass Synth: Corrected the "Legato" behavior for Oscillator 2. Note: This restores intended functionality but may slightly alter the sound of existing projects that relied on the previous behavior.

Important note for Maschine Plus users:

This update is compatible with the current Maschine Plus version.

I just installed this update via Native Access, but now all of my library is suddenly empty, even after a rescan and Maschine 3.4.2 crashes every time I add a VST3 plugin for Serum2

Have you tried the the Maschine crashes or freezes trouble-shooter ?

The computer MIDI keyboard icon changed too.

I dont have questions, but the new "Auto-Sroll near the edge" feature seems broken. I'm nowhere near the edge, and it auto-scrolls, which is a fair bit annoying.

Ive also found an annoyance with this latest update, quite a big one in my opinion

When playing pads with sounds on, if you hit an empty one whilst the sampling button is on, all the pads are greyed out and i cannot then move the focus off that selected pad (i have to use select to move to a populated pad again) which makes quickly moving between sounds and editing a nightmare

There's a chance it may be user error, so please feel free to correct me here, but this seems like new issue I didn't have prior to this release

Has the dark theme been improved ? The vertical lines for the "finest-grained" divisions are pretty much invisible, even when zooming out. It makes MIDI editing a pain. I know I'm not the only one who thinks this is an issue, I saw quite some complaints online.

I tried connecting my Maschine MK3 to my copilot+ laptop (Snapdragon arm64) a few months back, but had some weird issues. I don't own the Maschine 3 software yet,but would be tempted to upgrade if it would mean compatibility for arm processors. MacOS support is promising, but is there any word on support for windows on arm?

Since the update, every time I turn on maschine, it crashes my PC. I have updated every driver so I am not sure what the issue could be.

Do you guys have any plans on adding tooltips or an info panel? Soon I may not need them anymore, but having them would greatly reduce friction for those learning the software.
