Unable to load Kontakt Library

Hello, can I just say this is the first time I have ever tried to install a plugin on my MacBook, for use with Logic Pro X.

I've successfully managed to download and install Kontakt 7 along with the Kontakt 7 update. Unfortunately, no matter how I try, I can't seem to

download/install the "Library".

I've checked online and given "Full Disk Access" to "Native Access" and "NTKDaemon". I've also disabled Apple's "Gatekeeper" to allow downloads from "Anywhere".

I'm afraid I've hit-a-brick-wall and can't understand what to do next.

I'm hoping someone else has had similar problems and can offer me a solution.

Do I need a serial key to install/register, and if I do, would it be better to order directly from NI?

If you buy something made by NI that is sold by third party then , yes , usually then you would get a serial to register the product in/via Native Access.

At the moment then when buying NI software products from the NI site then you do not get any serial sent when buying , rather then software products made by NI that you buy on the NI site are added as available for installation in/via Native Access.

If I do order direct, do I definitely need Kontakt 7 to be able to use Acoustic Guitarist Strummer 2?

'Session Guitarist Strummed Acoustic 2' says to be only needing Kontakt or Kontakt Player (as oppsed to needing 'Latest' or version 8.x.x.) which means that that particular Kontakt library ought to work with Kontakt 7. However many Kontakt libraries has been seen updated to a version that needs latest version of Kontakt (at the moment = Version 8.x.x). So generally it's advisable to use latest version of Kontakt for your OS , e.g. by using the free Kontakt 8 Player. But for now the library in question ought to work with Kontakt 7.

And yes , NI Kontakt libraries needs either Kontakt or free Kontakt Player (licensed libraries)

You can download and install manually from Account downloads.

Also be sure to be using latest version of Native Access for your OS

Else then maybe a screenshot of what you want to install along with a screenshot of the error.

Also when all is installed and ready to use then if using Sequoia/Tahoe then N.I. apps and DAW must be added to the Local Network (Ref.: How to grant audio apps access to your local network on macOS 15 Sequoia).

Thank you to "Poorfellow" for replying to my post. I followed your advice and installed Kontakt 7 maually and checked/installed the latest version of Native Access. I also looked for Native Access and Kontakt 7 on my Local Network page, but couldn't see them there, so I wasn't able to enable them. See screenshot.

You can't add products to Local Network yourself. MacOS adds them automatically if they try to access the local network. If products aren't in that list they've not done anything that requires local network access so don't worry about them. Also, you shouldn't need to disable any Mac security to download products, it's not something I've done on my Macs here.

Which exact library are you trying to download, and what error messages are you getting? Some screenshots would be good.

Bear in mind that Kontakt7 isn't officially supported under Tahoe, although it does appear in Native Access if you enable legacy products.

But since the originally 'complaint' was that you could not download/install the "Library"then perhaps you should download and install 'the library' from Account downloads ?

Hello, and many thanks for taking the time to help with my problem.

I bought and downloaded Native Instruments Kontakt 7 Full Pro & Native Instruments - Session Guitarist - Strummed Acoustic 2.

The downloaded folder for Kontakt 7 contained a Data folder, an Install Setup.pkg, a Download Update link, an Add Library Install button and a ".

I followed the instructions in the mp4 video but, when I tried to "Add the Library," I was presented with an error label which said "Globally disabling the assessment system needs to be confirmed in settings" (see attachment), which I assumed was referring to Apple's "Gatekeeper", which I disabled before trying to add the library again. Unfortunately, it keeps failing to add the library and represents the error label.

I've looked inside Logic Pro and can see Kontakt 7 in Logic Pro's Plugin Manager list, unfortunately, I was unable to find Kontact7 listed as a AudioFx unit.

Hope that is clear, and thank you again for your support.

@JoMo1711 We've never seen this error message before. When you say you downloaded and installed, you mean in Native Access, right? The download and installation for Kontakt, the application, or a Kontakt library should be done in Native Access and in Native Access only. Can you give more details, screenshots? What/where is this folder?

Hello PoorFellow, Forgive me, I may have misunderstood your instructions, probably because this process is new to me and (for me) difficult.

I downloaded the latest version of Kontakt 7 from the Accounts downloads page, which should be fully up-to-date. After opening Logic Pro I used the Plugi-n Manager to Reset & Rescan the Kontakt 7 plugin and then check to see if Kontakt 7 was appearing in the AudioFX list, which unfortunately, it is not. See attachment.

Before opening Logic, you need to make sure you have installed Kontakt properly and the library with Native Access. Downloading from the download manager is only a workaround for SOME cases @PoorFellow and Native Access would still required to activate the products.

Thank you for looking at my problem.

Originally, I downloaded the files mentioned from the website I purchased the software from and used the included "Install Setup.pkg" to install. Since then, I've followed the instructions given to me by "PoorFellow" and downloaded Kontakt 7 from the Native Instruments "Account Downloads" page. I don't have an activation key from the website that sold the plugins to me….is that a problem? See attachment.

As said before, you need to install Native Access and then install everything from Native Access. Please ignore @PoorFellow advise to use the use the download manager, this is only required in a few rare cases.

I would just like to add that my initial advice builds on both that it for me were unclear what was the exact problem and my advice then were meant as a 'work around' for single problem on what to me appeared as being a possibly not supported OS (?)(Tahoe).

I also advised to use latest N.A.

Also , then my request : "Else then maybe a screenshot of what you want to install along with a screenshot of the error." , were directed at N.A. use as I thought that that had been used to download and install _Kontakt 7 initially….

Since I'm having issues (which I've never had before with other software purchases for MacBook) with installing the Kontakt 7 & Acoustic Guitarist Strummer 2 software I purchased from a dealer online?
