Water damage to Komplete Kontrol S88 MK3

I accidentally spilled water on my Kontrol S88 MK3, recently purchased used from Guitar Center. As a result, some knobs are not fully functional, and a few keys (and LED guide lights) are not working. Is this something I could have repaired or fix myself?

It is impossible to tell from description if the problem is a damaged 'potentiometer' or if it is damage to the electronics that the potentiometer interact with.

To make matters worse then fluid spillage does not sound as something covered by any normal product warranty but is usually only covered by an extra insurance that some people have as part of a home insurance or bought with the electronics themselves as an extra insurance. (I guess that only few of us gets or have this kind of an insurance unless of course having kids that spills all the time or have a lot of new electronics that needs accident coverage).

As already suggested by DunedInDragon then you could try a local keyboard repair shop but you should expect that the cost could be too high if it is not just the potentiometer and even if I could not guarantee that the local shop could get the spare parts needed if any is needed.

Of course then you can also contact N.I. Support (all) and ask for a free quote on a repair , but again cost could be prohibitive.

My own keyboard when not in use is covered by a piece of table cloth that repels fluids and I usually never place e.g. coffee or beverages so that they can possibly get into the keyboard if knocked over (which has happened once or twice the last few years..)
