My question is, when will Traktor Pro software have video support and video mixing capabilities? Today, every DJ program supports video, except Traktor. Many people love it and wouldn't want to switch, because that would be complete, I think. Thanks
I use video all the time in VirtualDJ when I Twitch stream.
I run it alongside Resolume, which chromakeys my camera input, runs a random selection of video loops behind me, and applies video FX. That feeds into VDJ via Spout. I then add various video clips and loops from the VDJ sampler, and the whole lot is streamed directly to Twitch from VirtualDJ - no OBS required.
Lots of VDJ users play videos or do karaoke.
I think there are many more other things we're likely to see first (if ever) in Traktor.
"I haven't seen this in any DJ software"
You haven't looked very hard then! 🤣 VirtualDJ splits stems (on the fly) five ways, and you can filter, control level, apply FX, loop, stemswap (i.e. replace drums) etc. any or all stems separately.
Serato and Rekordbox can also apply FX to individual stems.
I can't see it happen in the foreseeable future. If you want to mix with video better switch.
Traktor can't keep up with audio DJing, I doubt they have the ressources to add video. I also have never seen it get used in real life. Sounds somewhat niche?
Native Instruments has developed the stems to a serious level, so that you can filter and control all 4 ranges separately. I haven't seen this in any DJ software. That's why I would think that they would be able to integrate the video function. Traktor DJ is a bit overcomplicated, but I think it's the most accurate and best DJ program. Or if not to include it in Traktor DJ, then make a separate program with full video support and basic music usability. Maybe one day it will work. It would also be nice if I could use the S4 MK3 with Serato DJ, but unfortunately it's not possible. It's the best controller in the world and I don't want to replace it.
You're probably right, but Virtual DJ is completely foreign to me. I have a Serato DJ with a Rane Four, but it doesn't know what the S4 MK3 with 2 F1s does. Anyway, that's not really the point, it's the video.
Not so soon.
