Preview Mapping S4 MK3

The left preview Button on my S4 MK3 has become buggy. I hold it and use the rotary knob to preview the track. Is there way to use the the rotary knob as it was on the s4 MK1? Holding it and scrolling to preview a track? Or how can I map one of the below buttons (Fav and Library Switch) to be the Preview button? But Iwould favor the 1st Option. THX

Well, unmodified browse encoder (press) is the load function. Don't mess with it, or you can't load a track.

Use the right side preview button and encoder. There is only a single preview player in Traktor, so this is a duplicate function anyway.

Have you done mapping before?

If so, map the favourite button to do three things.

Load and play preview player. → This starts preview player with the selected track when pressing the button.
Unload preview player (check inverted checkbox) → This unloads the preview player when releasing the button.
Modifier #1, value 1, type HOLD. → This sets modifier #1 to the value 1 as long as you hold it down.

Map the browse encoder (turn) to seek through the preview player. Value determines the size of the seek jumps. Insert the modifier condition 'Modifier #1, value 1', so that seeking only happens when the favourite button is held down.

All commands should have the checkbox 'override factory mapping' checked, so that the original function is overridden.

If you have trouble implementing this or have never done overmapping, i can provide a tsi to help you out.

Hey, thx! As a matter of fact I tried to do so yesterday but I failed ;-) Why must I map the browser Button? Isn't it mapped already? Or has it to be done for the new button as well? It would probably be more convenient if u provided me with a tsi file ;-)

Add this mapping with 'Preferences → Controller Manager → Add … (under device dropdown)'. Remove the old S4 mapping file with 'Edit… → Delete'.

Thx, i will try it out soon. Waiting for a deoxidizer and cleaner spray first. Maybe that will help. If not I will give ur tsi a try. Do I have to delete the old S4 mapping file? Or ist ist possible to just select ur new one, I suppose it is identical except for the Preview setting, right?

Correct. You just have to make sure the one you want to use is actually active (IN-Port, OUT-Port).

i Imported your tsi and it seems to work flawlessly. The cleaner spray did not work on the long run. Thanks a lot for ur help. :-) Maybe in the future it will think about replacing the worn out buttons.
