I've been trying to install a new instrument unsuccessfully. Hopefully someone can help me troubleshoot my issue. TIA
I'm not aware of issues installing applications, NI or Izotope. Have you checked these steps? Native Access Error Message: "Installation Failed"
If issue persists after that, please get in touch with our support here: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
@Jeremy_NI ,
Completely impossible for me to see path settings , but this might require a Mac expert such as you anyway (?)
.
@Dacosta95 It seems you installed the library on an external hard drive? What is the format of that drive? On Mac it should be APFS: Notes on Hard Drive Formats on Mac Computers
If this is not the issue, are you able to install other products? Other Kontakt libraries?
It's hard to see the installation paths in your first screenshots as the definition is not high enough, it's all blurry, any chance to get clearer ones?
I appreciate the help :) I need to check that. I'm unsure which format it's in.
I've been able to update instruments I've already owned prior to upgrading computers. I haven't had any luck installing any new instruments on this computer.
There was some distortion after uploading the pictures on the website (screen shots taken with computer). I don't know much about computers and luckily I've never had an issue installing content. Trying to install this instrument is throwing me for a loop. 😅
Mac OS Extended (Journaled) is the current format. Would that work as well as APFS?
Is the drive an SSD or a spinny drive? Also, is the drive format case-sensitive, which it shouldn't be?
I don't think it's advisable to have the download location set to the same as content location.
As @PK The DJ suggested, you shouldn't have the same location for both content and downloads, this is most probably the source of the issue. You also chose this folder for both: \Volumes\MAC EXTERNAL\Native Instruments\Library
This \Library folder is used automatically when installing libraries anywhere, containing "receipts", necessary files that should not be moved and where there shouldn't be any other files.
So please make sure that there are no left over installation files inb this folder: \Volumes\MAC EXTERNAL\Native Instruments\Library
Then set up new locations in Native Access, with these guidelines:
Choose 1 folder for the downloads, for example: \Volumes\MAC EXTERNAL\Native Instruments\Downloads
Choose 1 folder for the content: \Volumes\MAC EXTERNAL\Native Instruments\Content
You should be able to install then.
REgarding the format of the drive, Mac OS Extended (Journaled) should work but APFS is recommended on newer macOS systems. If you don't have too much installed on this drive we would recommend to reformat to APFS, but if you have lots of other non NI content there, MacOS extended should still be ok.
Thank you! I will definitely try this out
Unfortunately setting up the new folder locations did not work. Could it be something else?
Would using Tahoe 26.2 cause any issues?
