When K7 was released, there was a problem when updating instruments, which left version 6 & earlier instruments broken when using those versions of Kontakt. Is there a similar problem at all with K8 update?
NI updates libraries and expansions at will and unless that you are using latest version of Kontakt then you always need to check requirements prior to buying or updating.
The good news is that for libraries updated then it generally has become a lot easier to downgrade since NI now has made the Account downloads page available to users , so now you can download the older version of most things at will if you have the library on account…
With respect to new libraries made with the requirement that they need latest version of Kontakt (8) then of course there is no other way of using them other than using the required version since they have no downgrade version option , so take care when/if shopping if you do not want to use/upgrade to Kontakt 8 Player or Full…
