Import Folders as Playlists and keep automatically the Folder Name as Playlist Name

Hi,

I want to import my folders (sorted by labels / producers from Bandcamp) as playlists into Traktor.

BUT every time I drag a folder to "Playlists" got asked "Please enter name of new playlist."

This is quite annoying cumbersome process if i want to import 300+ folders…

Is this a bug or missing feature?

Another question. Known from Digital Asset Management with photos.

Is it possible to sync the content of these playlists with the content the linked folders of my Mac? Preferably I would like to have watched folders which loads new added audio files.

Hope somebody out there can help me.

I don't think that is possible with traktor.

Why not use the folder view

hi, thanks for reply. what do you mean with folder view? probably you don't understand my question… maybe this a Mac only bug…

In traktor you can either see all your playlists, but you can also see all the folders on the disk. And they of course get updated with new files.

So instead of creating playlists based on folder, and updating the playlists, who not look directly look into the folder through traktor?

I'm aware of which track infos will be displayed in Traktor.

My question was about the import process. Why it's so cumbersome. Always this pops request to type in the name, if i drag a folder. I should directly catch the original folder name. Well in the meantime I have written a Apple Script which does the job for me.

My second question was about a sync function of linked folder/playlist. For example I have a playlist / folder of a record label. every time i add a new release to the folder, it should update its playlist content.

I have use this function in Digital Asset Management for photos and wish something like that exists in Traktor after 25 years of development.

We understand what you want, but that is not possible. That is why we tell you to use the folder view instead of the Playlist view.

If you can do scripting, you might be able to edit the collection.nml and add all your folders as smart playlists. Another workaround.
