Unexpected ways to use your Maschine +?

Big fan of Maschine+ as a groovebox and i've been very productive with it this way, but i'm curious of uses people have seen in the wild, or a way they use it themselves that might deviate from use as a pure groovebox?

I've seen someone on YouTube use a pair of Maschines in a similar way - but I wouldn't call either performer a DJ. They're not playing other people's tracks.

I use mine to add percussion and/or melodic elements to other people's tracks while I'm DJing. I could in theory use my Push, MPC or Electribes alongside the Maschine and switch back & forth. Never attempted it yet though…..

I've seen quite a few people do that, even way back then with MPC's and such, it's the easiest way to be able to swap/load projects live without silence.

I guess another unorthodox use is having the M+ as more of an FX processor, I've seen some people mentioning they do that.

A bit offtopic but: What the heck… He has metal plates on the Pads??? Actually it's all over the M+, I wonder if it's for more than just for aesthetics, the added stiffness on the Pads could help with force distribution or something? At the cost of not being as comfortable on the fingers (??)

Whatever the reason it does look cool.

Yeah I noticed that. The body has a metal "skin" but it also looks if there's something on the pads & buttons. Apparently NI sent him two Maschine+ in April 2023.

Yeah, wrong term, although he does perform much like a DJ albeit with 2 Maschines and a DJ mixer. I do think that the tempo on the Maschine+ is pretty accurate. I am quite happy to set mine to the same BPM as a track in my DJ software without syncing.

I think another option is to get a dedicated hardware midi clock to keep everything in sync rather than relying on maschine. Like the Nome II for example.
