I recently purchased a secondhand S2 MK3, and bought Traktor play in the hopes of learning to DJ. I transferred the secondhand controller using its transfer id. I have had trouble connecting the DJ controller to the traktor play software. When I connect it the music plays through my speakers and the master volume knob works but nothing else. In the controller manager I can't find how to connect the controller. I assume the controller is not supported by this software. Is this any different for the full version Traktor pro 4? I also got Traktor DJ 2 off the app store on my mac but have had no luck connecting the controller to it.
Should I try Serato instead because apparently they support the controller?
Further, I am using an adapter to connect the usb port on my DJ controller to the usb-c port on my mac however I don't think this is the issue as my mac recognises the controller as it allows me to use it as input and output sounds. But the controller only lights up for a few seconds and turns off, is this an issue or is it just because i'm not using the 12-15 V power supply port to power it.
Any help on resolving this issue would be much appreciated.
