help setting up Traktor Audio2 Mks HW with Mix5 Mixer

Question

Hi, I'm returning to DJ'ing and I've completely forgotten how to set up and what I need to connect a Traktor Audio2 Mks HW and Mix5 5-channel Compact mixer with my MacBook Air which has an M1 processor.

Also my Traktor software for mixing has disappeared!

Can anyone begin to help me?

Audio 2DJ and Traktor Audio 2 Mk1: Not class compliant, need special drivers on macOS. Not available for newer versions of macOS as 10.11 El Capitan. Not available for Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4, M5). Won't work.

Traktor Audio Mk2: Class compliant no drivers needed on macOS. Should just work.

I assume you are talking about a Mackie Mix5? At least it is first which Google delivers on Mix5.

You will need a TRS-Stereo to 2xTS cables to connect Audio 2 for each channel/deck with it. But the Mix 5 is not a DJ mixer.

As you are returning I expect that you still have a licence for Traktor (Scratch) Pro 2. This version is not supported on newer versions of macOS after 10.13 High Sierra. Therefore Native Access doesn't offer it for install it on Macs anymore even if you have a licence. Make sure in My products on NI website that you really have a Traktor Pro 2 licence listed. You will need an upgrade to Traktor Pro 4.

* Get Traktor buy downloading NativeAccess and logging in with your old account.
* There are like two or three versions of the Traktor Audio2. Depending on which it might not work with latest mac os any more. See this thread.
* If you want to use the Mix5 and you have the audio 2 mk2, I would guess you need a 3.5mm TRS to 2x 6.3mm TS cable. Or you just connect your speakers directly to the audio 2.

You need something to control Traktor with as well, unless you want to use your mouse and keyboard.

Yes, Traktor Pro 4 is the current version of Traktor. Compatible with macOS 14.
