Traktor S5, change function of crossfader

Hi all,

In my Traktor S4 MK2 I use an override mapping function for the the crossfader, in orde to use this as a CUE MIX knob (screenshot 1). This works perfectly for me. Is this possible to make this work in my S5 as well, since an override mapping will not work in the S5 mapping?

In the Controller Editor it is possible to change the channel number (screenshot 2), but I am not familiar with that? Or perhaps a custom QML file can do the tric?

Custom qml. I do the same when i use the S5 with a different audio interface.

Go to '…\Native Instruments\Traktor Pro 4\Resources64\qml\CSI\S5\Mixer.qml', line 48

// Xfader
Wire { from: "%surface%.mixer.xfader.adjust"; to: DirectPropertyAdapter { path: "app.traktor.mixer.xfader.adjust"; } }

replace it with this:

// Xfader
// Wire { from: "%surface%.mixer.xfader.adjust"; to: DirectPropertyAdapter { path: "app.traktor.mixer.xfader.adjust"; } }
Wire { from: "%surface%.mixer.xfader.adjust"; to: DirectPropertyAdapter { path: "app.traktor.mixer.cue.mix"; } }

That's sounds great!

One litte problem: I'm a Mac user and in order to change this, I have to right click the Traktor app, and then choose "Show Package Contents". But I am not allowed to change the QML file.

I am a local admin and I made myself the owner of the Traktor app and also all the maps and files, but still it is not allowed.

Change this thread's title or make a new thread with that question. I am not a MAC user and you have to attract a MAC user's attention. I am sure somebody will help you out if you don't manage enable the write permission on your own.

Note: You'll have to change the file again after every new patch. :)

Edit: What happens when you press the UNLOCK button?

After unlocking you get the option to make a duplicate of the file.

Don't ask my why, but when I change the file with a plain text editor, then I can save changes to the file, so maybe this will work. I'll test this in my studio this evening, I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your quick support.

Note: I am aware of the affect that this change has to be done in all new patches as well, but thanks!
