Kontakt 7 Is Up to Date, but Updated Libraries Now Require Kontakt 8

My Kontakt 7 is up to date, but after updating the library it now requires Kontakt 8.
I do not wish to install Kontakt 8 Player.
Could you please provide a previous Kontakt 7–compatible installer for this library, if available?

I am currently using the latest version of Kontakt 7, fully up to date according to Native Access.
There are no update issues or errors related to Kontakt 7 itself.

The problem started after updating certain Kontakt libraries via Native Access.
Libraries that previously worked correctly in Kontakt 7 now display a message indicating that Kontakt 8 is required, and they no longer load in Kontakt 7.

I am experiencing an issue with Kontakt and would like to ask for clarification.

I own Komplete 14 Ultimate, and I am currently using Kontakt version 7.10.9.
According to Native Access, there are no updates available for Kontakt.

However, when I try to load certain libraries, I receive the following message:

“Your version of Kontakt is too old to load this file, which was saved with Unknown Tool (unsupported).
Please update to the latest version of Kontakt.”

This is confusing because Native Access indicates that my Kontakt installation is already up to date.

Many libraries (updated via Native Access) now require Kontakt 8 as a baseline.

If you are intent on staying on Kontakt 7 - you need to do the following:

For the libraries that are giving you this error - you need to revert back to a known good Kontakt 7 version - found here:

Once you have reinstalled the older K7 versions - be aware that if you go back into Native Access later - and mistakenly press Update All - Native Access will simply overwrite everything and put you right back in this mess.

From this point forward - you will need to check Release Notes on every update you do and only update if the required Kontakt version is less than v8.

Also important to remember - Kontakt 8 has been out since Fall 2024 - and there will be no more updates for any libraries OR the actual software for Kontakt 7.

You should consider a move to at least Kontakt 8 Player to avoid this issue in the future.

Uninstall the library that gives you the error. Then go to Account downloads and download and install the previous Kontakt 7 compatible version of the libraries that gives you the error.

Sorry , but the only way I know of to fix the problem is what I described above :

Since the Kontatkt libraries has been updated to a version that is not compatible with your version of Kontakt (7) then you either need to use the latest version of the free Kontakt 8 Player (included in the free Komplete Start) or downgrade/date the Kontakt library that is giving you the problem by uninstalling the library that gives you the error. Then go to Account downloads and download and install the previous Kontakt 7 compatible version of the libraries that gives you the error.

You can download most of the older libraries from your account here - https://www.native-instruments.com/en/account/downloads/. Uninstall the newer library using Native Access then download & install the older one. And don't hit the "Update" button

If there's a library that you need that's not there let us know.

You can either downgrade the libraries to older versions, as mentioned above.

Or, install Kontakt 8 Player for free, and use the latest versions of those libraries.
