Missing components in WINE?

I know NI doesn't support Linux in any way or form (much to their own detriment really), but could it be possible to at least get to know what components/DLL's/libraries are actually needed to install it?

I have managed to install Native Access and can install and even use most of the applications and plugins. But not Kontakt 8. I have installed and can run Kontakt 7.9 successfully but I can't seem to find compatible sample packs for it. For any version in the Kontakt 8 series there's something missing and no one seems to be able to figure out what it might be.

Could someone from NI at least be so kind to point out what the software requirements are? What DLL's are needed? What libraries? What applications?

I would very much like to pay NI to use their quite awesome stuff, but if I can't even install to try out then they won't be getting my money. If this is answered not only me but probably quite a few others would be happy to shell out the money for your stuff. If not? Well, your loss of revenue.

For the systems that are supported - all the requirements are clearly listed on the NI site.

Not sure how anyone could help on Linux since there is no support for that whatsoever

Yes they list what OS and hardware is needed, but what parts of the OS does it use? If they told us that, and actually helped their potential future customers, then they could gain thousands of customers overnight. But if they don't want our money, then it's their problem not ours.

To add to my previous comment (since editing doesn't seem possible), if they just told us the components their programs use, then that's enough for most of us. The don't really have to add any kind of support at all (even unofficial), most of us are happy to work with that and build our own support.

Like most other companies they likely see it as a short term cost, and fail to see the long term revenue stream. Which quite honestly makes their management a bad one, or their engineers are not capable of handling something which they have done once before (since they do support the vastly different Windows and macOS systems). But now I'm going of on a tangent totally unrelated to the problem and question at hand.

As for their support, I don't care about it. I can do everything without their support. Asking them for a list of libraries they use isn't asking for support. It could even help their Windows users (updates both to apps and the OS have a pretty big chance of breaking things, it's a very common occurence).

By the way, Battery 4, Massive X and even Kontakt 7.10.9 works perfectly. Absynth 6 can be installed and runs but shows a white window, the default sound can be played, so effectively unusable. I just want to be able to use Kontakt 8, with or without any support from NI themselves.

If you can't help with my actual question, then please stay away.

The most essential component that needs to be installed in a WINE enviroment is a proper powershell installation. This can be done using winetricks. The component is called 'powershell_core'.

It is required because the recent versions of Native Access use powershell scripts to determine which software is installed (otherwise everything appears as uninstalled). Furthermore, Kontakt, Massive X and may be other software run powershell scripts to create their preset databases. Therefore, without the powershell support, you will get empty preset lists.
