After many years of arguing the case for this we finally have full metadata editing in Komplete Kontrol. Why is this important? Well Komplete Kontrol has always been meant to function both as a controller interface between NI keyboards and plugins, and as a NKS librarian. However the sort of metadata it has been possible to edit in Komplete Kontrol has up till now been limited mainly sound type and character tags, and with the release of KK3 users even lost the ability that was in previous versions to add user notes and edit fields such as the preset author or brand name so metadata editing in the properties pane became even more limited.
Komplete Kontrol 3.5.3 returns those abilities but also finally adds the ability to edit bank and sub bank fields (along with also fixing the frustrating bug that stopped sub banks from showing). This is important because many Komplete products such as Massive X and now Absynth 6, currently lack that ability themselves. This means Komplete Kontrol can enable users to organise all their NKS content, including from all NI products, plus third party NKS (whether official or made by us) with full control over bank names and sub bank names, as well as being able once again add patch notes etc.
It also means we can finally create a NKS template entirely inside Komplete Kontrol without resorting to third party apps or hacks to add things like bank names - which is really how it always should have been
Thanks to NI for this very welcome update and for listening to us.
