Demo installation fails

After a couple of downloads of the file Absynth 6 6.0.1+1 Installer DEMO, I have to give up trying to install the demo version. At best, I get an error message:

“There has been an error.
Unknown tag <project> at line 1 in file
C:\Users.....\Downloads\Absynth_601_PC\Absynth 6 6.0.1+1 Installer.exe\project.xml”

In rare cases, the installation starts with the welcome screen, but it stops as soon as the actual extraction begins, with a message referring to a log file. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to catch the full path. “AppData…..”

Have you downloaded and installed latest version of Native Access for your OS ? and is Absynth 6 Demo available for installation via N.A. if you log into your account there ?

Else then check if your computer meets requirements given and if you have sufficient account privileges needed for installation. Could also be a problem with the dependencies installed or some OS setting…

Try running the NI reg tool and remove Absynth 6 if there , then reboot computer (important) , and then download and install again…

Else then what is your exact OS version and screenshot of error.

It is not avaible from Native Access.

My PC definitely meets the requirements for anything Native Instruments throws at it.

Im not asking for help. Im informing NI that the installer fails.

I am unable to install the Absynth 6 demo (version 6.0.1+1) on my Windows 11 system. The installer crashes immediately with a CUSTOM_ERROR related to ntdll.dll.

The only way that this will be 'informing' NI in any meaningful way would be if you contact N.I. Support (all) and shared the available information and perhaps even let them help you fix the issue , that's the way 'support' learns…

In general then NI do not monitor the forum to get information from people about problems that they will no bother contacting NI with. And even when the NI forum Customer Care spots something that look like a pattern (which is not the case here , at least not yet) then people are asked to share the information with N.I. Support (all) .

After several attempts, I managed to complete an installation of Absynth 6 6.0.1 Installer.exe. However, when I started the VST version in Cubase 14 a few days later, I was told that my version had expired. I uninstalled it and then tried Absynth 6 6.0.2 Installer.exe, but the same thing happened: a crash on startup. I still haven’t been able to install it, and I don’t understand why it can’t be installed as a demo version via Native Access.
